Summary
Joined as a foundational engineering hire, owning the frontend React codebase for global live video platform for instant ESL tutoring. Led early product strategy and roadmap as first PM starting 2018. Cambly did YC W'14, before I joined.
Highlights
Designed Cambly's proprietary ESL curriculum and virtual classroom interface, growing content from zero to a full-time in-house Learning Team
Cambly Kids (24/7 online ESL classroom for children) was built and launched in 2018: my work involved writing code, leading product and curriculum design, and handling early legal work
Proposed and led Cambly’s first longitudinal outcomes measurement, quantifying a positive correlation between product usage and CEFR proficiency gains
Taught after-hours coding lessons for non-technical co-workers
